Portraits

The environmental portrait is the haiku of photography for me.  It brings together all of the techniques in photography – light, angle, lens choice and background – to convey as much meaning about your subject as possible in one frame.  Almost all assignments involve a portrait of some kind, whether it be a single portrait illustration for Vanity Fair or part of a multi-picture layout for Smithsonian Magazine.
